South American Butterfly Fish Maw

Our fish maw is butterfly maw, made from the dried maw of giant groupers found along the North American coast. One whole fish maw, when cut in half, yields two pieces of butterfly maw. It is named for its thick, translucent texture and butterfly-like shape. Among butterfly maws, those from Mexico and Venezuela are considered the best quality. Large butterfly maws generally come from groupers that are over 15 years old. Due to the protection of wild bony fish by the governments of the United States, Mexico, and various Latin American countries, the quantity of large butterfly maws is becoming increasingly rare and precious.

Butterfly maw is sweet in taste, neutral in nature, and enters the kidney and liver meridians. It has the effects of tonifying the kidneys and essence, nourishing tendons and脈s, stopping bleeding, dispelling stagnation, and reducing swelling. It is mainly used to treat postpartum eclampsia, metrorrhagia, traumatic bleeding, and can significantly improve anemia in postpartum women. Therefore, butterfly maw is most suitable for pregnant and postpartum women.
